Putting Together A Home Decorating Notebook
Home decorating shows are all over television. If they have provided you with inspiration to redecorate the rooms in your home, read on to find out how to come up with your home decorating plan.
Start by making a decorating notebook. Gather together a three ring binder notebook, folders with pockets, dividers and notebook paper. Divide your notebook into sections by room. Use the notebook paper to make notes that come to mind.
Before you throw away a magazine that you have read, look through it again and take out photos of rooms that catch your eye. Don’t spend any time at this point thinking about the cost. You are just looking for ideas.
Also cut out pictures of individual items that you like. If you see a picture of a designer baby bedding set you want for your nursery, cut it out. Put it in the pocket of the folder for the room the item will go in.
Also pay attention to colors. You may not particularly care for the pieces of furniture in a photo, but you love the wall colors. Tear out the picture or make a note on your paper of the color scheme that you like.
If you have the time, when you are shopping in a store that sells accessories, take a few minutes to look through the home decor accents available and take notes of pieces that you like.
Think about your master bedroom and think about the things you already have on hand. Are you using a bedding collection that you love? If the answer is yes, look for accessories that will coordinate with pieces that you already have.
If you are going to completely remodel a room, go online and check out some of the room planners that are available. Many are free and easy to use. You may have to download some to your computer, but you should be able to save and print your plans.
By taking the time to put together a home decorating notebook, you will be able to come up with a plan and a place to start in your home. By keeping a price list in your notebook, you will no what is a good buy when you see items you are interested in. You will find the planner will help you come up with a design plan that you will love.
