1- Parish Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Downtown Puerto Vallarta
Year after year, Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe welcomes thousands of Catholics, especially during a 12-day festival called the feast of Guadalupe each December. This is a must-visit attraction in Vallarta. There is usually lots of activity in and around the parish, where tour guides appear on a daily basis, respectfully sharing their information on Mexican traditions. The church bells ring every 30 and fifteen minutes before each service. The Parish dominates the skyline of Puerto Vallarta in countless postcards, as the city's most distinct and charming landmark.
2- The Malecon, the paved walkway in Central Puerto Vallarta
The Malecon is a paved walkway all along the sea shore of downtown Vallarta. It is a very fashionable place to visit, as you can enjoy shopping, bistros and the local Mexican culture too. The walkway includes numerous sculptures by famous local and Mexican artists, including Bustamante, Colunga and Barquet. The walkway has just recently been completely renovated, what was the street is a pedestrian walkway too and there is Wi-Fi all along the Malecon too.
3- Mercado Isla Cuale & Mercado Municipal Cuale Downtown Puerto Vallarta
Mercado Isla Cuale & Mercado Municipal Cuale - are two big public markets in Downtown Puerto Vallarta, they lay along the sides of the Cuale River. Comprising a complete city block along the north side of the banks of the Cuale Stream is the Mercado Municipal (Rio Cuale City Market), often referred to as the Mercado de Artesanias. Isla Cuale is a natural island on the Cuale River. The island has some restaurants, a museum, an art gallery, a statue of John Huston, and a lovely fountain... But the majority of people know it for its shops and stands.
