Jewellery Wearing Athletes
Top footballers in Europe earn from £80,000 to £180,000 per week. Many footballers love fast and expensive cars and some of them love to wear jewellery. There is no doubt in saying that you see more African players wearing all types of jewellery from gold to silver jewellery than European, Asian and American footballers. Though, South American footballers are not that far away.
There was a time when jewellery was allowed to wear in the pitch and I have seen few Cameroon and Senegalese footballers wear jewellery while playing. These days you can't wear jewellery in any contact sport and it has been banned in football too so Ronaldo can't show off his new silver earrings while playing in the pitch. As Ronaldo dives quite a lot he might hurt himself through his earrings.
It's not only footballers who love jewellery have you seen the African and American athletes in Olympics now they have some solid gold and silver necklaces around the neck. If you see these athletes in action you will see them wearing jewellery and run. Do you remember US athletic superstar Michael Johnson wearing a huge gold necklace around his neck everytime we ran. I am sure if he ran without the heavy gold necklace around his neck he would have been much faster than his World record pace.
Here are few names of footballers and athletes who love wearing jewellery:Rio Ferdinand, Francesco Totti, David Villa, Carlos Tevez, David Beckcham, Dwain Chambers, Fernando Torres, Christiano Ronaldo and Jose Maria Gutierrez Hernandez.
What I don't understand is why can athletes wear jewellery but footballers can't wear jewellery? I believe they should ban wearing jewellery while the sport is in play. I understand they have a lot of money to buy these jewellery and fast cars but they can show this off outside the field not inside the field.
