Shape- traditional we think of cupcakes as round, but you can also get baking pans in a variety of different shapes including hearts, stars or flowers.
Frosting Flavours- A great way to add another layer of flavour and interest to your cupcake is by adding frosting to the top. Frosting can be made in a variety of different flavours to compliment the cake underneath. Some examples of frosting flavours are chocolate, cream cheese, lemon or strawberry. It is easy to pick one that will suit your cupcake.
Frosting Colours- When picking a colour for your frosting your choices are limitless. You will probably want to pick a colour that goes with the theme of your event and the flavour of the cake itself. Whether you pick bright, bold primary colours or subtle pastels the colour of the frosting you cover your cupcake with is limited only by your imagination.
Frosting Style- There are also a number of different ways that you can apply frosting to your baked cupcakes. Filling- By adding filing to the top of your cupcakes, you can add another dimension of surprise to your guests. Pick a filling flavour that compliments your cupcake and frosting choices. There are a variety of flavours to choose from including chocolate, vanilla, and lemon.
Decorating- This step can be the most fun and most creative in the process of cupcake baking and designing. Decorating the top of your cake can get your creative juices flowing, but you can also pick up a variety of books and magazines that will help to inspire your ideas. From clown faces and animals to beautiful flowers, pick a decoration that will go with the theme of your party. Get a variety of toppings to fill the top of your cup cake and remember to be creative.
