Games to Look forward to
With a fairly quiet time recently for game releases, I thought this post would come in handy to make sure that no one misses any of the great games that are set for release for the rest of the year.
There have only been a handful of great game releases so far, some of which include X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena but this is all about to pick up and the next few months are certainly something to get excited about as you will see below.
The first major release which is in a few days is the latest Guitar Hero game in the series, Guitar Hero Metallica. If you love Metallica, metal or just love Guitar Hero you will want to get this game because it comes with an awesome setlist from Metallica and aroud 20 other artists.
Terminator Salvation is another to keep an eye on in the next few days because it's due for release on the same day as Guitar Hero Metallica. This game is based upon the storyline of the upcoming fouth Terminator film. It's hard to say if this game will be any good because it's based upon a movie and movie games can sometimes be rubbish.
Now, heading into the beginning of June, you can look forward to seeing some of the following:
The Sims 3, although I am not at all a fan of these games, no doubt this one will be massively popular and you can expect everything you love from the original games, aswell as a whole bundle of new features to discover.
The next game is Prototype, something slightly different with this one but hopefully it will be well made a fun to play. It would have been good to see a demo of this game before release but I don't think we will be seeing one.
Batman: Arkham Asylum, I think every Batman fan will be getting their mits on this game. The new Batman Arkham Asylum game looks awesome and hopefully we won't be let down by quality. There is some slight confusion though about the release date because it was scheduled for June however, there's news that it has been delayed to an unconfirmed date.
Yet another movie based game is Ghostbusters however this is meant to be released on the same day as Batman. This is another game with some confusion behind it because there was some new recently that Sony had payed for exclusive rights for a period of time, but we'll have to see how it pans out.
Into July we are going to see the release of the latest Harry Potter game to co-inside with the release of the movie, however, just like the Terminator game, the quality of this game is questionable. Although I'm pretty sure the Harry Potter fans will want to get their hands on this game as soon as possible.
Now comes the games that are set for later in the year but within those few months there are some real good ones. These include Dirt 2. Other games include Max Payne 3, another addition to the Rock Band series, The Beatles: Rock Band which also come with a range of brand new instruments. Another addition to the Need for Speed series is also planned, Need for Speed Shift aswell as Starcraft 2, Bioshock 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and finally Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 which is most likely going to be the biggest hit of the year.
There is certainly a huge amount of look forward to on the run up to Christmas and I'm sure that there will be a few more that pop up onto the radar in the next few months, most likely a few Guitar Hero games considering about 5 are planned for the rest of the year.
