The camera built inside this Barbie doll holds 256 MB, it will record for half an hour long video. The camera is located in her necklace. Her back has been equipped with a color LCD screen that shows the recording, with playback and delete keys. Barbie can deliver the videos to both PCs and Macs. Comes with free Barbie movie-editing software to give sounds and visual effects -- but the software is only for Windows.

Barbie Video Girls has some plus points. The editing software is simple to use, but a parent will need to help install it. When you plug Barbie into the computer, the program will load and all the footage is transferred to the program. It automatically moves it off the Barbie and into a video folder. It comes with some great Barbie-themed sound effects, music, animated transitions, making it easy to edit a cute movie.
But it make also some minus points. Mac users don't get the Video Barbie Girls editing software. Her accessories are limited because she has been designed with a camera in her necklace, so you don't want to cover that up. Her pink top comes painted on her body, so it's better to take her jacket off while recording because it will make loud crinkling sounds and can get in the way of the camera.
I love Barbie, and sometimes I'm jealous that I couldn't play with this as a kid. It takes playtime to a whole new creative level when you can turn into a director wherever you go.
