A Woman's Quick Guide On What To Wear For A Job Interview
Someone interviewing you for a job will begin to judge you based on your appearance. More than having an impressive resume, what you're wearing will also speak for you. That is why it's important to consider what you'll be dressed in, to impress the interviewer.
Wear a matching conservative two-piece suit. Dark gray, navy, brown and black are safe colors to wear. Choose a suit with a solid color. Or if you wish to go for patterned ones, go for fine weave or plaid. Put on a matching blouse underneath the suit's jacket.
With regards to skirts, avoid wearing anything cut higher than the knee. Also, slits should not be revealing. If you intend to wear a pair of pants, go for one that's custom made for you. This will ensure that it fits well; not too baggy as track pants and not too tight as jean skinny.
All jewelry items and fashion accessories should be conservative. Go for a simple yet stylish wristwatch. Steer clear of wearing extreme and chunky earrings, necklaces, bangles, rings and others. Always remember that less is more. If you're thinking of carrying a purse with you, that's going to be fine. Just make sure it's simple yet elegant.
You should exude stylishness at a job interview. Although wearing a pair of stilettos or women's brown boots also shows stylishness, it's in a different direction. Wear closed toe shoes, with minimal designing. It's okay to wear a flat pair. But if you wish to don something high-heeled, stick to those with 1' or 2' heels.
Also, make sure you can walk comfortably in your shoes. The day before the job interview, practice walking in the shoes you're planning to wear. Especially if you just bought them! You don't want to trip as you approach the interviewer. That's not really going to be a pretty first impression.
Wearing no make up at all might get the interviewer into thinking you're not prepared or interested. So it's much better to wear make-up. But do apply minimally, and use subtle hues. Steer clear of scents that are too strong. Go for lightly-scented eau de parfum spray, and do apply modestly. Keep your fingernails clean and clipped.
If you look good on the outside, you will feel good about yourself and your confidence will shine through. For this reason, it's important to plan and consider what you'll be dressed in for a job interview. A potential employer will also base your caliber on what you're wearing.
