The Claddagh Ring – A Symbol Of Absolute Dedication To A Cherished One
If you step into an Irish jewelry shop and happen to move to the rings section, you will encounter a ring that has a heart shaped stone or metal stud set into the ring. The heart is held by two hands as if in an offering and on top of it is a crown or tiara. There is a traditional protocol for the way Claddagh rings are inserted into one’s finger

Persons who are single and un-attached should wear the Claddagh ring on their right hand with the heart facing outwards or to the other person. When the heart is worn facing the wearer, the ring is conveying the fact that the wearer is involved in a relationship but is not yet committed. People who are already engaged or married should wear the ring on their left hand with the heart facing them.

In particular, people who are already married should take care to sport the ring in a way that will reveal their true marital status. Otherwise embarrassment and trouble may be waiting ahead.
