Treating Feline Skin Problems
Virtually every feline will have some type of kitten and adult cat skin lumps, bumps and pimples over the course of their lifetime.
Sharing your living space with one of more cats? Beware that they might have a close up and private skirmish with cat skin issues. In most cases, skin issues are aptly cared for by discussing a skin problem with a veterinarian. - Cancerous tissue mass is regularly hard and not moveable
- Pimples are raised skin areas full of pus
- Vesicles are a lump under your cat’s skin
- Papules are referred to as a raised welt
- Nodules are elevated lumps on the skin
- Contact rash is caused by rubbing against something that disagrees with them
- Feline acne around the face and jaw, is generally from rubbing to mark their territory
- Cat allergy is a rash caused by flea bites
As you can see, there are a number of causes for feline skin issues and a lot of them overly concern their human family with the idea that their precious pet could have cancer. While it’s correct that some of the lesions your kitty may sport might be cancerous, the majority of them aren't. However , chatting with the vet is the right place to start. You might find out the issue you noticed is a benign cancer, a hematoma or fatty lump, referred to as a lipoma. To explain, don’t jump to the worst scenario first.

Treatment for kitty skin conditions is varied , depending on what the suspected cause is, though most often it will include medicine, shampoo therapy, topical skin homeopathics antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, ointments, antibiotics (oral or injectable), sprays, soaps and patches. Regardless of what it is, follow all of the steps outlined by your veterinarian and complete the full course of treatment. This typically guarantees the issue does not return. If it does return, it could be an issue with the dosage, medication identified, or diagnosis. This would also indicate that more advanced tests are needed.
