What is a aquamarine?
I heard it is a kind of diamond, is that true? Also what are the kinds that come from Africa and stuff that I should not buy?
It’s not a diamond. If anything, it’s more of an emerald.
I can’t believe someone just said it was illegal to buy diamonds from Africa. Where do you think all the diamonds De Beers has came from? There is an overabundance of diamonds in the world, but those in control of the mines in Africa regulate the export of a set amount per year in order to keep the price as high as possible. Diamonds are anything but rare.

Aquamarine (Lat. aqua marinā, “water of the sea”) is a gemstone-quality transparent variety of beryl, having a delicate blue or turquoise color, suggestive of the tint of seawater. It is closely related to the gem emerald. Colors vary and yellow beryl (heliodor), rose pink beryl (morganite), and white beryl (goshenite) are known.
Whoever decided to throw that thumbs down isn’t very bright, eh?
